For The Least Of These My Brethren
I went to pick up Xak from school today. As usual, he’d been run hard and put up wet. He was ready to go home.
When we got in the car, I noticed a message on the phone and took it – our friends at the art gallery were having problems with their computer.
So, I told Xak we had to go see Henry (the four legged top dog at the gallery).
“NOOOO! Want to go hoooome!” Xak bellowed.
So, I turned around and faced the boy, and I told him, “Henry’s computer is broken, we have to go fix it.”
“Henry computer broke?”
Yes.
“Gotta go fix it?”
Yes.
“oooookay…”
And off we went.
I spent about half an hour bringing the errant machine back into full capacity.
And while I was at it, Xak comforted Henry. No crying, no grumping. Xak was the picture of human kindness incarnate.
Jesus, I love that boy….
